Fashion TV sails to Sanya for luxury event

Fashion TV (FTV) wanted to celebrate its 10th anniversary with a very different event. The company decided on an FTV World Tour on board its own FTV yacht, which is named F-Diamond.

Sanya was the first tour destination in mainland China for FTV. Various resorts in Yalong Bay also participated in the promotional filming of the destination, with Sheraton Sanya Resort as the main focus.
Sheraton Sanya Resort was also the sole sponsor for the main FTV event.

Challenges
This was the first off-site catering on board a yacht that Sheraton Sanya Resort had hosted, so the pressure was on.
The resort had less than 12 hours’ notice to put the event together. All food and beverage provided for the event needed to be prepared within six hours and the food then needed to be transferred in two refrigerated trucks on to the yacht.

Regardless of the busy operations at Sheraton Sanya Resort, a total of 30 staff were
required to service the yacht.
FTV also requested that strict entry control with tight customs procedures were enforced.
Therefore all staff were required to bring an ID card or passport upon boarding the yacht.

Execution
The event was divided into four parts – a press conference, dinner buffet, fashion show
and the FTV party. Dinner was served as a table-top buffet allowing guests to mingle freely
among themselves and FTV’s models. Sheraton Sanya’s staff ensured the food and beverages
were constantly replenished.

Three bars were set up to serve cocktails and alcoholic drinks during the dinner, fashion
show and FTV party.
All the equipment was required to be cleared and transported off the yacht during the same night, and Sheraton Sanya Resort’s staff worked until the early hours of the next day.

Verdict
The founder of FTV, Michel Adam, and vice-president of marketing, Uzi Garty, were
extremely impressed by the level of service and the quality of food provided by Sheraton
Sanya Resort within such short notice.
