According to a statement from Mercedes-Benz, the branded arena will operate as an equivalent to landmark venues such as the O2 Arena in London and the Staples Centre in Los Angeles. It is expected to stage a broad range of entertainment including concerts, cultural, family and sporting events.
Other brands reported to have signed exclusive sponsorship deals with the Arena include Budweiser, Coca-Cola, China Merchants Bank and Moet Hennessy Diageo (MHD).
The stadium will open on 15 January next year, coinciding with Mercedes-Benz’ 115th anniversary. The arena will be managed by AEG-OPG Culture and Sports, and joint venture between AEG China, an entertainment and sports management company, and Oriental Pearl Group.
