Executive reshuffle at IPG's PR shops

<P>IPG public relations firms Weber Shandwick and GolinHarris have unveiled a raft of senior management changes to their Greater China operations, as part of a bid to better align their resources across the network.</P> <P>Weber Shandwick Beijing managing director David Liu has been promoted to managing director China - effective from 1 October - overseeing the firm's Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou operations. Darren Burns, currently heading GolinHarris Taiwan, joins Weber Shandwick China as managing director, Shanghai and Guangzhou. </P> <P>Wei Hsiang, who has joined Weber Shandwick from Ketchum Newscan, will head Taiwan, although Burns will continue to have a supervisory role.</P> <P>On the GolinHarris side, Hong Kong MD John Morgan will take on a new role as regional MD, Greater China, while Lydia Lee becomes director of Shanghai and Guangzhou. </P> <P>In Taiwan, Stanley Liu has been named GM, forming part of the senior management team replacing Burns. "The structures that we have put in place are different between Weber Shandwick and GolinHarris because, quite frankly, they're in different places right now in terms of their size and respective business dynamics," said Andrew Pirie, Weber Shandwick president, Asia-Pacific, and GolinHarris MD, Asia-Pacific.</P> <P>"More of our clients are saying they want a pan-regional approach, so that's what we're moving towards." <BR>A key area of growth for Weber Shandwick will be in the area of healthcare, while GolinHarris will look to enhance its consumer PR offer to clients in China.</P>
