EVENTS: SOPA salutes star Asia-Pacific publishers

<p>Business Week, Asian Wall Street Journal, Reader's Digest, Ming </p><p>Pao, Time Asia, Asiaweek and Newsweek were among the big winners at the </p><p>recent Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA) awards for editorial </p><p>excellence. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>About 200 people attended the awards, which aim to pay tribute to </p><p>editorial excellence in both the traditional and new media fields, and </p><p>recognise the rise in industry standards. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The gala function was held in Hong Kong and SOPA chairman Barrie </p><p>Goodridge (also Publicitas Asia chief executive) officiated, while Ruth </p><p>de Aquino, president of the World Editors Forum, was the keynote </p><p>speaker. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
