EVENTS: Asian Advertising Awards - BBH bags top award for Levi's print work

Print edged out television for the first time in more than a decade to win Media's Best of the Best award.

Bartle Bogle Hegarty nabbed the top prize at Media's Asian Advertising Awards - held on March 27 at the Grand Hyatt in Hong Kong - for a print campaign for Levi Strauss.

Competing against all major agency networks, BBH took home a total of 10 prizes - including two of the three golds awarded - the biggest haul at the show.

A jury panel of 12, led by Leo Burnett USA's vice-chairman and deputy chief creative officer Mark Tutssel, selected the 275 finalists, awarding a total of 29 spikes and 30 certificates of excellence in 64 categories.

The judges, which found the overall quality of entries this year had declined, described the Levi's work as "a big brand with a big idea that was beautifully art-directed and well advertised".

Despite the flu scare, the awards attracted more than 300 guests from across the region.

The event was sponsored by Texon Media, Getty Images, Star Group, National Geographic and Time.
