Euro RSCG clinches Changi Airport AOR

SINGAPORE - The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore has awarded the creative account for its entire Changi Airport business to Havas agency Euro RSCG.

Euro clinched the two-year account - worth S$4 million (US$2.6 million) - after beating incumbent Y&R and Publicis in the final round. The new agency-of-record will now handle brand and product advertising as well as digital services for the airport. It is the agency’s first Government account. The first Euro campaign, focusing on the inaugural Airbus A380 commercial flight from the airport, will break in October.

Separately, a Qais Consulting-designed website for the airport’s soon-to-be-opened Terminal 3 has seen more than 37,000 unique visitors since its launch on 22 August. According to Mark Newton, Qais VP for digital media, users spent an average of just over six minutes surfing the site. In addition, there have been 2,200 downloads of its interactive wallpaper.

To drive traffic to the site, Qais placed ads on sites such as Yahoo, MSN, Google, Asia Rooms, Lonely Planet, Channel News Asia and Newsweek, which saw clickthrough rates of a little under half a per cent.
