The company's push has begun from its base in southern China, firstly into Hong Kong, before heading into Shanghai, Beijing and Southeast Asia.
The group is the market leader in the herbal cold and flu remedy market in the southern province of Guangdong.
Its move to seek markets further afield comes after its cold and flu remedy Eisiti - a newly-developed product that combines traditional herbal mixtures with modern packaging - was constantly sold out in its home market during the height of the atypical pneumonia outbreak in April and May.
Using a 'science meets nature theme', Hong Kong is the first new market in which Xiangxue Group has launched Eisiti.
Xiangxue general manager Andrew Fung said that the company's research had found that there is renewed interest in traditional Chinese medicine among Chinese people, including those living outside China.
"In Hong Kong, people no longer immediately consult a doctor when they fall ill," Fung said.
"They are more likely to try to alleviate the symptoms through natural means initially. This gives us a potential opportunity to expand our business."
The television commercial - which was developed by local, independent agency Bang - underlines Xiangxue's commitment to producing top-quality products with the help of technology, by featuring a robotic arm cutting leaves and other plant material with a precision laser beam.
The campaign's tagline is 'It's not only scientific, it's from nature too'.
Bang managing partner Lina Wong said the spot emphasises Eisiti as a product in which science meets nature to alleviate flu and cold symptoms.
Eisiti is aimed at adults who lead a busy life and wish to use a more 'natural' means to stay healthy when illness sets in. The 'convenience' factor is reflected in the product's packaging, which is designed for quick and convenient usage.
The TVC, which was shot by Ringo Wong of Another Factory, is supported by print and point-of-sale material.
Xiangxue Group has a 40-year history in China focusing on Chinese medicine and healthcare products and bio-medical engineering research. Its products come in the form of tablets, capsules and instant mix packs to provide treatment to a variety of ailments including cold, flu and respiratory and digestive problems.
