EGAT concludes branding pitch8

BANGKOK - Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) has concluded a full-service advertising pitch involving Lowe, Leo Burnett, McCann Erickson, JWT and the local agency On-Going as the state-owned power company looks to build its brand in the Kingdom.

Ten agencies were invited to pitch initially, but five - including Creative Juice/G1, TBWA, Publicis, Spa and Dentsu - decided to withdraw after the briefing session.

According to a source, EGAT is on a look out for an agency to develop a brand campaign to boost the company's green credentials.

EGAT has a history of pitching projects individually, and its account is divided among several agencies. Last year Lowe Thailand was handed the brief to develop its corporate image using TV and print.

EGAT owns a number of power plants across Thailand and accounts for 60 per cent of the country's energy capacity.
