Dumont joins Omnicom alongside Birkin
Strategic communications professional Serge Dumont has been appointed senior vice-president, Omnicom Group and president, Omnicom Asia Pacific, bringing to an end a seven-year private consultancy stint he embarked on upon leaving Edelman in 1998. Reporting to vice-chairman, Omnicom Group and chairman and CEO, Omnicom Asia Pacific Michael Birkin, Dumont - who will be based in Beijing - has been tasked with spearheading the network's strategic expansion across the region, initially focussing on Greater China. During his 20-year career, Dumont has been retained as a high-level advisor by a number of governments and multilateral bodies, including the World Health Organisation, the Beijing Municipal Government and the French government. The appointment is effective immediately.
