DUBAI The Government of Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) is to set up a dedicated Dubai Convention Bureau. The bureau, in addition to promoting the emirate as a convention, exhibition and incentive destination, will market and sell the purpose-built convention centre. The centre will be operated by the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC) and is scheduled to open in 2003 to coincide with the IMF Summit. DTCM director general Mr Khalid A bin Sulayem said the setting up of the bureau would help position Dubai as a convention city.
