Droga departure prompts Chant to quit Publicis role

Publicis Singapore's Rodd Chant has confirmed his resignation, one year after joining as its first executive creative director.

Chant cited the departure of worldwide creative director David Droga as a key factor behind his decision. "I joined so I could work at a company that had somebody of Droga's calibre at the helm. After he left, I started re-evaluating what I wanted to do and where I wanted to do it," said Chant. According to Publicis Singapore CEO Mike Stepan, the agency would not be "rushing for a replacement". "Our commitment to creativity is undiminished," said Stepan. "We are determined to delight our clients further in creative areas and this parting of ways is not going to deter our progress." Prior to joining Publicis in January 2005 (Media, January 28, 2005), Chant was founder and creative of Born, an independent Australian consultancy.
