Donovan takes regional strategy role at Euro

ASIA-PACIFIC - Euro RSCG has named Matt Donovan as its new regional director of strategy, based in Shanghai.

Donovan shifts from Euro RSCG New York, where he was a member of the New York management committee and managing director of the agency’s strategic consulting group, Euro RSCG Leap.

“(Matt) understands the need to develop an integrated, multi-disciplinary approach right from the concept stage through to execution. With his global expertise, he will be a formidable asset for our Asia-Pacific team,” said Euro RSCG regional CEO George Gallate.

Donovan will play a key role in the agency’s Dell, Volvo and Reckitt-Benckiser accounts. “Our toolkit is about looking to where things are going,” said Donovan. “It’s focused on looking at the future first and, very broadly, at the business from a product development angle.”

Donovan bolsters the ranks of regional planning talent in Asia, a field that has expanded considerably in recent times. “It’s changing, not just because of growth, but a lot of strategic people are thinking of the challenges and problems that are broader than the US and Europe.”

Donovan first joined Euro RSCG in Australia in 2002, following a six-year stint at FCB. He is also claimed to have played a leading role in identifying the metrosexual trend among Australian men.
