Hong Kong Disneyland has put its creative account up for pitch, marking the theme park's first major review since it opened its doors for business last September.

Agencies thought to be involved in the process include incumbent agency Ogilvy & Mather, Leo Burnett and TBWA and at least one other network. Agency chiefs, when contacted by Media, declined to confirm their involvement, and at press time, Disney had not returned requests for comment. However, Ogilvy was tipped as the front-runner to retain the business.

One source told Media: "It may be that (Disney) is looking for a new direction, and certainly it's no secret that it would be a brand many agencies would love to work on."

Press reports in recent weeks have suggested that visitor attendance figures were well down on Disney's target for its first year of operations, which, along with the company's marketing team undergoing a series of changes earlier this year, are two issues which may have played a role in sparking the review, sources claimed.
