DiGi hands youth and Malay business to Grey

KUALA LUMPUR - DiGi Telecommunications has awarded its RM45 million (US14 million) youth and Malay marketing account to Grey after a five-way pitch.

The WPP agency won the business ahead of DDB International, JWT and late pitch entrants Leo Burnett and Y&R.

Grey replaces four-year incumbent McCann and joins Naga DDB on the DiGi creative roster.

Loong Tuck Wend, head of segments and marketing, DiGi, confirmed the news: “We’re pleased to have Grey on board as our creative partner to support DiGi’s marketing efforts. We’re confident that they have the right mix of creativity and experience to help us meet our goals.”

Loong added: “DiGi would like to thank McCann for the tremendous support and excellent services that they’ve provided us. We appreciate their commitment to our marketing programmes during their tenure as our agency.”

DiGi is Malaysia's fastest growing telco, competing with Maxis and market leader Celcom.
