His latest disappearance - which would have made David Copperfield proud - took place at the end of last month after a rowdy party in Stanley, Hong Kong.
Apparently, the associate publisher of Reader's Digest went missing in action at a liquor-laden buck's party to celebrate his nuptials later this month to the lovely Cordelia Chan, associate publisher of Cahners Asia.
One story goes this way: a happy Jeffery got royally plastered and wandered off at about one in the morning, never to be heard off again. The other story, one Diary refuses to believe, is that Jeffery opted for an early night - he wanted to get his eight hours of beauty sleep ahead of getting hitched in Hong Kong.
Jeffery and Chan first met when they worked together at the former Far East Trade Press.
More than a decade on, they'll tie the knot at a registry marriage followed by a lunch at Excelsior's TOTT's restaurant and bar.
Then it's off to London that same night for a romantic Italian getaway.
