DIARY: On the spot - Larry Feign, director, Stvdio Media Animation

What's the best part of your job?

Working with indescribably talented artists and animators from all over the world. Can't believe how lucky I am!

And the worst?

Accounting. Remembering to separate the crumpled receipts in my pocket from the Snickers Bar wrappers and to write it all down for my finicky accountant.

Your all-time favourite film and why?

I never get tired of the film version of 'Cabaret'. If only pre-handover Hong Kong had had that end-of-an-era decadence and colour, and costumes!

Favourite book or CD?

War and Peace by Tolstoy (No, I'm not being snobbish; it's a real page-turner)

CD is a toss-up between Keith Jarrett's 'Koln Concert' and Jimi Hendrix 'Live at Woodstock'. If I could draw like Jimi plays his guitar on 'Red House', I'd expire happy.

Do you have a favourite gadget?

One gadget I'm never without: it's called a pencil (remember them?).

Lately I'm in lust with Staedtler 3Bs. Useful for art on the fly and also for pushing back cuticles.

Favourite fashion designer?

I dislike most fashion designers.

What are your hobbies?

Cycling, music, exotic cocktail mixing.

Where did you go on your vacation?

The Star Leo cruise to Vietnam.

Who would play you in a film?

Daffy Duck. Talk about type-casting!

How would you title your movie?

'Neon Meate Dream of A Octafish'.

Please finish this line, I wish I could ... grow my remaining hair into a ponytail like all those ad guys, but my wife would slaughter me (or, worse, cut her own lovely hair short).
