DIARY: On the spot - Johan Vakidis Creative director, OgilvyInteractive Shanghai

What's the best part of your job?

The challenge in conceptualisation, pondering ideas and then bringing them to life, trying them out.

And the worst?

Having a really strong idea trashed in seconds, but that's part of the job.

Your all-time favourite film and why?

Superman one through four. I just don't get bored of watching them.

Favourite book or CD?

Books would be anything biographical and CDs would be hip-hop, reggae or drum and bass albums.

Favourite restaurant and dish?

A souflaki joint, Arahova's, in Montreal. Chicken souflaki pita with a side order of feta cheese and spinach pie.

Do you have a favourite gadget?

Rubik's cube; I like the complex challenge from such a simple object. But, I've recently turned to an abstract i-toy I designed in Flash. It randomly renders an image from objects. Each object can be dragged to form a unique visual. The fun thing is that when you drag one object, the others react.

Favourite fashion designer?

My criteria is that clothes should be different, without extravagance, and also comfortable.

What are your hobbies?

Art, design, programming and talking to my parrot, Zorba.

Where did you go on your vacation?

Home to Montreal to see family, friends and local hangouts.

Who would play you in a movie?

That funny Ernest guy, you know the one with the denim cap?

How would you title your movie?

Untitled1.mov.

Please finish this line, I wish I could ... fly.
