Diary: On the spot - Geoff Naus, Chairman, executive creative director, McCann Erickson Hong Kong

What's the best part of your job? Selling a great campaign against all the odds.

And the worst? When I finally realise that a truly terrific creative idea will never see the light of day.

Your all-time favourite film? Apocalypse Now. A timeless movie about how war distorts morality, filmed by a crew that literally went to hell and back to deliver the goods (Martin Sheen had a heart attack, Coppola nearly went bankrupt).

Favourite book? A Canticle For Leibowitz.

Favourite print title? Guitarist magazine.

Favourite restaurants? Mandarin Grill in Hong Kong and Smith & Lewensky in New York City.

Favourite gadget? My Line6 Spider II guitar amplifier with amazing digital sound combinations.

Favourite fashion designer? I don't do designer.

Weirdest thing in your closet? My favorite 10-year-old Eddie Bauer t-shirt, consisting of two dozen holes bravely held together by fatally exhausted bits of material.

What are your hobbies? Playing my five electric guitars. Oil painting.

Favourite holiday destination? With three young daughters, it's Brisbane's Gold Coast by default.

Who would play you in a movie? Billy Connelly.

How would you title your movie? Okay, Everybody Calm Down.

If you were a brand, what would it be? A Mont Blanc fountain pen, always ready to add quality to an empty page.

All time favourite ad? Coca-Cola's 'Mean Joe Green', a powerful emotional encounter in just 30 short seconds.

I wish I could ... Influence George Bush to take global warming seriously.

Last thing to cross your mind before bed? I hope tomorrow behaves itself ...
