DIARY: My media

Christina Cheng, commercial marketing manager, Airport Authority,

Hong Kong

Television

Number one favourite programme: Ally Mcbeal. I'm amazed how creative a

series like this can be. It makes me feel that it would be great to have

the freedom to act out all the idiosyncrasies of each individual in real

life. It's full of hilarious surprises.

Number two favourite programme: Chinese soup operas, which somehow make

me feel very relaxed. Number three is news, on any channel.

Press

Shopping Centre Today, to catch up with the world scene of shopping

centre development and management. Next magazine and the entertainment

section of the Apple Daily for local hot gossip. Also SCMP, Business

Week, and any weeklies, as long as they're free and I have the time.

Website

To me, the web is just a way of searching for information, so I don't

have a particular favourite - perhaps Yahoo! for general purposes.

Advertising

I am most impressed by advertising campaigns that influence me without

the need for substantial post-production work or a huge investment in

location set-up. McDonald's commercials make me smile from the

heart.

SKII is the most successful in making me imagine how it would feel if I

were to use the advertised product.

Radio

No one particular favourite, but I do hate programme hosts who impose

their own point of view on the audience.
