DIARY: My media

Nigel Oakins Executive director, special assistant to chairman,

Sing Tao Group

Television

I tend not to watch much TV. What I do watch is: ESPN Star Sports - to

catch Charlton in the Premier League.

Sex in the City - valuable insight on how women think.

Press

IHT - It's amazing what you can do with so few pages.

Bangkok Post - The best English newspaper in Asia.

I'm sure Sing Tao is a very good paper, if only I could read it.

I do subscribe to a lot of magazines. I get the UK edition of G.Q. It's

much dirtier than the American edition.

I also read the US edition of Vanity Fair. The editorial for that is

really switched on.

Advertising

I don't really watch much TV and when I do, it's the bad ads that I

remember.

The worst I think is the promotional stuff that CNBC does on its own

channel.

Another is promotions for The Wall Street Journal.

Anything that says "We mean business" is crap because so many of these

ads use the same line.

Websites

CAFC.co.uk - Its all about Charlton Athletic.

Quamnet - Gutsy attempt at a financial portal.

Radio

HMV 864. Phil Whelan can be a pain but he's putting together some great

programming. But, generally, I prefer to listen to my own CDs.
