About a year ago, ESPN/Star Sports came to Hong Kong and now it comprises most of my TV viewing. Yes, an American can learn the finer points of the Premier League and Formula 1. Sports Center for breakfast is great. Other shows that I like are Amazing Race, Lo & Co and Ally McBeal (some habits are hard to break).
Press
Saturday morning and The Economist (though it may take me 'till Sunday to finish). I read the SCMP online and at the gym. During haircuts, I browse through several of the local magazines (e.g. Next, Easy Finder, East Touch) to catch up on the latest gossip and trends.
Websites
WSJ Online, HSBC internet banking site, Spinner (online music) and Morpheus (file sharing) receive regular visits. Recently, I have been exploring Apple's Quicktime related sites and Now.com.hk (great video technology). Always a big fan of Amazon, I enjoy shopping online and use Hong Kong's Cityline whenever I go to the movies.
Advertising
The internet makes it easy to see ads from around the world. I enjoyed the World Cup ads (few were shown in Hong Kong). The Ikea TVC with the lost dog is a current favourite. I appreciate when a brand uses the location or medium itself to add to their brands message. Nokia's 7650 ad on Next Magazine was a recent example.
Radio
I use this medium very sporadically. Besides a bit of BBC World and HMV radio, I listen to music through MP3s and internet radio.
