A new trade advertising campaign is launched by MTV Networks Asia to promote its rapidly growing network. The campaign tells people that the network has achieved distribution in Asia of 46 million homes and that it will focus on localised programming.

China's TV giant, CCTV, appoints Hong Kong-based China Resources Advertising (ChinaRAd) as its media representative. CCTV's assistant advertising manager stays in the territory to head up ChinaRAd's international department.
