Diageo reviews regional digital agency roster

SINGAPORE - Drinks giant Diageo has initiated a major review of its Asia-Pacific digital agency roster, triggering interest from a range of regional and local contenders.

Currently handled primarily by OgilvyOne and Arc, the process is reportedly being managed by R3, although the review consultancy declined comment. It is believed that Diageo is a seeking a roster of agencies to handle digital marketing duties across key Asian markets.

Along with regional agencies such as OgilvyOne, Arc, Proximity, XM and Tribal DDB, it is believed that RFIs are also being sent out to local players across Diageo’s key markets.

However, it is not believed that Wunderman – which has handled Diageo business in the past – is involved in the process. The account is expected to include the full range digital marketing duties.

As such, the regional CRM business, which was consolidated with OgilvyOne just last year, may be under review again (Media, 29 June 2006). At presstime, Diageo was unavailable for comment.
