Disney's regional corporate comms role has remained vacant since Irene Chan moved to vice-president of public affairs at Hong Kong Disneyland earlier this year. Devereux, who occupied the position of managing director at BM, is expected to take up the role by the end of the month. Neither Devereux nor Disney could be reached for comment.
Tomsett spent eight years at BM, including seven in China, where she built the agency's mainland practice as its market leader and eventual COO.
"We're very appreciative of the contributions that she has made to the firm," said Rylance. "There are other things going on in her life right now which I am not at liberty to discuss and we wish her only the best for the future."
Said Tomsett: "It's the right time for me - I'm just going to take a break for a while."
Regional public affairs practice leader Ian McCabe, who held the Hong Kong market leader position for three years prior to Tomsett's appointment, will assume the role in an interim capacity.
