Dentsu to handle Sony campaigns through new unit

TOKYO: Dentsu is taking a 40 per cent stake in Intervision, Sony's fully-owned advertising agency from April 1.

The new entity - which aims to break new ground in developing a communications business for the new media and broadband sector - will be charged with handling the marketing communications needs of Sony's group of companies in Japan and Asia.

The joint venture, which has yet to be named, will combine Sony's broadband network technology and content with Dentsu's marketing communications expertise and human resources strengths.

It will also actively seek other clients and develop new business outside the group.
