Dentsu takes aim at Second Life

TOKYO - Dentsu has put Y10 million (US$870,000) behind the creation of Virtual Tokyo, an 85-hectare marketing platform in Second Life.

The company aims to attract three million users within its first year to virtual zones built by around 30 blue chip Japanese advertisers.

The value of Second Life in Japan is expected to mushroom from Y135 billion this year to Y1,250 billion in 2008.
