Delta to promote conservation issue

TAIPEI - Power management solutions company Delta Electronics Foundation has aligned itself with Discovery Channel and Animal Planet Taiwan for its first major communications push, which seeks to position the company as an environmental leader.

The deal, in which Delta will partner with the two platforms via an integrated sponsorship agreement, will see the company take top and tail promotional slots around Discovery Channel’s new series Building the future, simultaneously sponsoring Animal Planet’s Spotlight Earth series. Both initiatives will run until December.

In addition to programme billboards, the communications strategy will incorporate public service announcements encouraging viewers to do their part in leading a more eco-friendly lifestyle and a microsite featuring tips on leading a green lifestyle, environmental facts and a series of quizzes.

“Discovery Channel and Animal Planet are both very active in raising awareness of the environment,” said Bruce Cheng, chairman of the Delta Electronics Foundation as well as Delta Electronics. “Delta does not do any promotion in the consumer marketplace, so this partnership with Discovery helps us get our name and our passion to conserve our environment to a broader audience.”

He said Delta’s green credentials were improving quickly, with a recently-built factory earning a Green Building Certificate from Taiwan’s Ministry of the Interior.
