Dell and China Mobile to launch smartphone

BEIJING - Computer maker Dell will launch its first smartphone under a deal with China Mobile.

According to Western reports, Dell will make its debut into the smartphone market after years of speculation, taking on mobile giants including Apple and Nokia.

Reports add that Dell will link with China Mobile to distribute handsets that use Google Android sourcing
. Leaked images of the phone appear to have touch-screens and resemble the iPhone’s interface.

The news comes after Apple was said to have signed a three-year contract with China Unicom to sell its 3G iPhone after a lengthy battle to introduce the phone in China. Recent reports suggest that the iPhone may go on sale next month.
