Delhi hosts Linux software expo at Habitat Centre

NEW DELHI LinuxAsia 2006, the third edition of Asia's premier opensource software conference and expo, will be held at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi February 8 to 10.

Rahul Chopra, spokesperson for event organiser EFY India, said: "This is the third time in succession we have chosen the same venue. This venue provides multiple halls for several tracks." LinuxAsia 2006 is expected to attract more than 2,000 attendees, including more than 1,200 for the conference. The three-day conference will take place in three halls, with the keynotes taking place at the auditorium. "The auditorium is a two-level hall with one level accommodating 350 attendees and the other base has capacity of 130. The two levels have same stage, so it's like a theatre setting," said Chopra. Apart from three halls for conferences, a hall with a capacity of 60 people will be utilised for press conferences. "Other than this, we have plans for using a mix of hall and open lawns for exhibition. There will be around 60 display booths, with minimum of 9 sqm," said Chopra.
