DDB wins Huaxia's creative business

ASIA-PACIFIC - DDB Guoan has secured the nationwide creative business for Huaxia Credit Card Center, following a pitch against TBWA, Lowe, and incumbent Grey.

Huaxia Bank’s Credit Card Center is a joint programme between Huaxia Bank and Deutsche Bank, which purchased a 9.9 per cent stake in Huaxia Bank in 2006.

The joint credit cards were launched last year, with creative handled by Grey.

Daphne Lee from DDB Guoan, Beijing who led the pitch with ECD, David Lin, said: “Huaxia Bank’s competitors are across the board in the banking industry in China including China Merchant Bank, China Citic Bank, Commercial Bank of China, and the Bank of China.

But the client really wants to bring international expertise to their  campaigns this year.”

The work will be through-the-line, and will focus initially on promoting new products and activities, including a below-the-line campaign for the bank’s flagship Titanium credit card.
