DDB dominates Singapore Effies - again

SINGAPORE - It was an occasion of overwhelming domination by one agency at the Singapore Effies last night, as DDB won four out of five of the top awards.

Only TBWA\Tequila gave the its fellow Omnicom agency any competition, its "Everyone wants to be part of its" campaign for Sentosa Golf Club also winning gold.

DDB dominated proceedings for the fifth year in a row, claiming two golds for the Health Promotion Board and one each for the Republic of Singapore Air Force and StarHub.

DDB also won a silver for McDonald's, in partnership with sister media agency OMD.

David Tang, the president and CEO of DDB Singapore, said: “It’s five years in a row for DDB, it’s our positioning for clients who want that sort of agency.

Bates141 won two silvers, one with MediaCom for Nokia and one for the National Council Against Drug Abuse.

Silvers also went to Religion and MindShare for Unilever's Clear Men brand, BBDO and OMD for SCA Hygiene, Ogilvy & Mather and MindShare for Design Singapore Council, Qais Consulting for Hilton Hotels and Saatchi & Saatchi and MEC for Sony Ericsson.

It was a bitter-sweet evening for M&C Saatchi Singapore, which heard news of its closure yesterday (Media 5 June). The agency won a silver for its recruitment campaign for SAP Asia.
