DDB boosts Japan operations; changes name

TOKYO - DDB has unveiled a raft of new appointments for the agency's Japan operation, along with a new name for the network.

Yasushi Ogata has joined as creative director from Ogilvy & Mather, after several years’ experience on Unilever’s Dove and Ponds brands, along with IBM, SAP and North West Airlines.

On the account side, Akane Akiba and Taihei Hayama have both come on board as group account directors from TBWA and BBH respectively.

Akiba will work on the recently-won Lipton business, while Hayama will work across Philips and Mont Blanc.

Takashi Takeda (pictured), who joined as CEO in February, has also changed the agency’s name from DDB Tokyu Agency Creative to DDB Japan.
