BKSH Associates and Quinn & Gillespie, both of which are also owned by Genesis B-M parent WPP, are considered two of the leading bipartisan firms in the US capital, advising a range of clients on public affairs, government relations, and advocacy.
Genesis B-M CEO Ashwani Singla pointed out that the deals would prove beneficial in two ways. “Indian companies that are starting to look for business in the US have to go through Washington,” he said.
“Also at the end of the day, you need to bring in a level of expertise into Indian public affairs firms, which have been old-fashioned lobbying firms in the past.”
BKSH hit headlines earlier the year when it signed a contract to represent Benazir Bhutto’s Pakistan People’s Party to push for free and fair elections in Pakistan this year.
“There is a place for our kinds of services and expertise, especially in the trade area” BKSH CEO Scott Pastrick told Media. “It will give a comfort level to Indian companies.”
The deals come after Genesis launched its public affairs practice last year and constitute the launch of its “global public affairs offering”.
