DBS searches for agency to handle projects

SINGAPORE - DBS, the largest commercial banking group in Singapore and Southeast Asia, is believed to be on the look out for a creative agency to handle several projects.

It is understood that the banking giant initiated discussions with some high-profile international agencies that currently do not have a banking client. A source, who did not want to be named, said that the bank is looking for an agency "who can handle ad-hoc projects from time to time".

DBS appointed Euro RSCG after a long-drawn pitch process last year.

The bank shortlisted two pairs of agencies in the final round, which did not include incumbents David Communications and Mindshare.  Euro RSCG was tasked with overseeing creative duties for both Hong Kong and Singapore.

DBS is a leading consumer bank in Singapore and Hong Kong, serving over four million and one million retail customers, in Hong Kong and Singapore respectively. DBS Group, which owns the bank, is one of the largest financial services groups in Asia with operations in 16 markets.

Last year in June, Euro RSCG promoted Andrea Lee to the role of regional brand director for DBS. Lee was previously the agency's general manager in Hong Kong.
