D'Arcy promotes van Motman to head up SE Asia

SINGAPORE: D'Arcy has promoted Dick van Motman to managing director of Southeast Asia, which includes day-to-day management of the Singapore office.

Jan Gerits, D'Arcy director of business development in Asia-Pacific, was acting managing director in Singapore but will now focus on generating new business.According to van Motman, who remains regional client managing director on Philips and Procter & Gamble, P&G is happy with his move to Singapore because its Asia, Australasia and India operations are there.

He said he wanted to raise the standard of D'Arcy's creative work in Singapore and to win more business in Singapore, particularly from local clients.

"We're starting to get the (creative) work right for our multinational clients and that will (hopefully) attract local clients,

said van Motman, who is a nine-year D'Arcy veteran having worked for the agency in Holland, Indonesia and South Korea.
