Crisis consultancy opens doors in Hong Kong

HONG KONG - Crisis and issue management consultancy Regester Larkin is launching in Asia-Pacific, with Hong Kong as its regional hub.

Managing consultant Caitlin West (pictured) will head the consultancy, after previously setting up offices in the Middle East. Though the specific client list for Asia is still confidential, the agency is said to be working with international oil and pharmaceutical companies at present.

Hong Kong has been selected due to client needs and the city’s status as a business-focused region in Asia. “Recent crises in Asia, such as the Chinese melamine scandal, have highlighted that stakeholder reactions to crises are becoming increasingly sophisticated in the region. Customer concern, recalls, outrage, negative media and tough regulatory action were all evident, but the process was played out over a much longer time frame,” West explained.

Regester Larkin is a consultancy that conducts training and research, and develops and refines existing crisis communications for companies. International clients include 3M, Baxter Healthcare, Shell, Standard Chartered Bank and more.
