XS-Media has signed an exclusive deal with Time Inc Asia to host

media inventory, worth more than USdollars 150 million, for sale through

its online trading platform.

Time Inc's Asiaweek and Time titles will host regular inventory, special

inventory and sponsorship packages on the site, which goes live this

month, according to XS-Media general manager Winnie Bolande.

"We have a host of media owners who have signed up with us, including

Time and Asiaweek. I think this (buying and selling media online) is

definitely on people's mind and those in the industry know which way it

is heading, and are keen to learn more about how it works," Ms Bolande

said.

XS-Media, she claimed, had confirmed more than 1,100 media buyers from

Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand. This represents an

estimated 60 per cent of media buyers with a buying power of more than

USdollars 5 billion.

The website is a community site for the media and advertising

industries, and also provides related news and opinions, media kit

information, research highlights, jobs, as well as an online trading

platform.

Inventory listed on the site includes local and regional print titles,

outdoor media, online media, conference and exhibition sponsorship and

television packages.

XS-Media co-founder Julie Harrison added, "Online trading is in its

infancy, but we are confident that our platform will provide Asiaweek

and Time with the tools for online negotiation, promoting value added,

sales development and long-term revenue growth. It's all about

efficiencies; XS-Media provides Asiaweek and Time with the opportunity

to work faster, cheaper and more efficiently."

According to XS-Media, there are more than 13 online media exchanges in

the US, five in the UK and six in the rest of Europe.
