Tom.com has acquired 50 per cent interest in Yazhou Shoukan, Ming
Pao's Chinese weekly current events magazine.
The magazine, which is also produced online at www.yzzk.com, has a
circulation of more than 100,000. Tom.com said it is to expand the
publication's print and online content.
The company stressed no changes would be made to the editorial team and
its independence.
This is Tom.com's first print media acquisition under its cross-media
business strategy.
If China regulations allow, Tom.com will also assist in the development
and marketing of the magazine in mainland China.
