CREATION: MTV's virtual VJ wins award

<p>Since her debut on MTV last June, Asia's first virtual, interactive </p><p>VJ - LiLi - has been winning the hearts and minds of youths all over </p><p>Southeast Asia, India, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China and Australia. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>In recognition of her popularity, the MTV "LiLi: Version 1.2" show, </p><p>powered by Ericsson, was voted "Most Innovative Programme" at the Asian </p><p>Television Awards 2000 in Singapore. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Not one to rest on her laurels with this award, LiLi will soon be </p><p>morphing into a new self through a new format "LiLi: Version 2.5", </p><p>offering more languages and programming. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>LiLi's daily interactive video request show proved to be a hit with fans </p><p>aged 15 to 24, where ratings for her show doubled the ratings normally </p><p>enjoyed by other MTV Networks Asia programmes on cable and </p><p>satellite. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>LiLi has also given numerous live press interviews and hosted various </p><p>signature MTV events in Asia, including the MTV Summer Summit Concert in </p><p>Taipei, Taiwan, where she chatted live and interacted in real time with </p><p>Coco Lee on stage before an audience of 60,000. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The offspring of Mr David Flack, senior vice-president, network </p><p>editorial in MTV Asia and Mr James Speck, creative director of Cowboy </p><p>Water Design, LiLi has origins inspired by Japanese anime, with roots in </p><p>Asia. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>She speaks English, Mandarin in Taiwan and China, and with hints of an </p><p>Indian accent in Mumbai and an Aussie streak Down Under. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Fans can catch LiLi on five MTV channels in Asia, three MTV Asian </p><p>websites and on www.vjlili.com. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
