The International Herald Tribune (IHT) has redesigned its website,
www.iht.com, marking the first overhaul since its launch three years
ago.
The site has been redesigned to provide user-friendly navigation tools,
offering indepth editorial coverage and opportunities for IHT
advertisers.
The homepage, redesigned to eliminate clutter, now features a world map
icon that allows direct access to the top news stories, weather reports
and market news.
The new site also includes regular features by journalists and
contributors.
According to the company, the website now provides advertisers new
advertising and sponsorship opportunities with "eye-catching positions
in prime locations".
It also offers tailor-made sponsorship packages that enable specific
audience target capabilities and features several scrolling options,
which enable continual visibility for online advertisements on Web
pages.
Other features also include a clippings folder, email and subscriber
services, access to the full contents of the paper for the previous six
days and access to selected articles from the site's archives over the
last two years.
Mr Conley Rollins, development director for IHT Interactive said, "What
we are most proud of, is the extent to which we were able to take
advantage of new HTML technologies and standards to create a news site
that looks and feels truly unique: not an easy task when there are so
many out there.
At the same time, the biggest challenge was not a technological one, but
one of trying to let the IHT's content speak for itself, and that is
often about figuring out how to keep technology out of the way."
