CREATION: Chinadotcom acquires Australian DM business

<p>Chinadotcom has acquired RNR International Marketing's Australian </p><p>direct marketing business, giving it access to more than 12 million </p><p>business and consumer records. The cash and stock transaction will </p><p>enable Chinadotcom's emarketing arm to add to its list of over 10 </p><p>million email addresses, creating a list of almost 22 million addresses, </p><p>one of the largest mail lists in Asia. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The move is expected to help Chinadotcom further its emarketing efforts </p><p>and generate revenue. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>As well as acquiring the email lists and data, Chinadotcom said it would </p><p>benefit from RNR's experience in building, cleaning, enhancing and </p><p>profiling of records, making it a powerful tool for marketers. The </p><p>acquisition also gives it clients such as Cathay Pacific and the Hong </p><p>Kong government. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Mr Peter Hamilton, COO of Chinadotcom, said, "RNR's client base presents </p><p>new opportunities to cross-sell our existing online marketing solutions, </p><p>as well as our online ad network. The mail lists and their record of </p><p>achievement will be key to driving our continuing growth and maintaining </p><p>our leading position in these markets, and positions us to be a much </p><p>larger player both in Australia and regionally. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>RNR International Marketing Group (Australia) is a database, direct and </p><p>online marketing agency that develops, designs and implements marketing </p><p>programmes for national and international clients throughout Australia </p><p>and Southeast Asia. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>RNR also has joint-venture arrangements with the Chinese government for </p><p>the Hong Kong Companies Registry, the Australian government for a major </p><p>employment website and the Australian Mobile Telecommunications </p><p>Association. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The other areas of expertise RNR brings include marketing database </p><p>design, development and implementation; telemarketing, response </p><p>management and fulfillment and mailing; data handling from hand-written </p><p>documents, computer records and electronic messages; and list research, </p><p>compilation and broking. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Separately, Chinadotcom also announced that subsidiary Web Connection </p><p>has launched its Thailand operation through the acquisition of </p><p>Bangkok-based ebusiness service provider Cyberimage in a three-year </p><p>buyout deal. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Cyberimage has helped companies such as Procter & Gamble, GE Capital, </p><p>Hitachi, Panasonic, Toyota and Siam Cement bring their businesses </p><p>online. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The acquisition follows Web Connection's recent entry into Europe </p><p>through its acquisition of Revolution in the UK. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
