According to the companies, CR-Nielsen and Youku hope the process will “become the standard indicators for measuring other media advertising in videos”.
Deputy CEO of CR-Nielsen, Ma Qi-Ji, added that monitoring will also improve marketers’ confidence in in-video advertising, and “CR-Nielsen welcomes and encourages more web media (websites), advertising agencies and advertisers to make use of the data and to do better marketing with online videos”.
Earlier this month, the China Internet Network Information Center reported that the number of Chinese netizens watching online videos reached 240 million by the end of 2009.
