Courts Malaysia shifts media to Mindshare

KUALA LUMPUR - Consumer electronics and furniture retailer Courts is believed to have shifted its estimated US$5 million media planning and buying business to Mindshare in Malaysia from long-time incumbent OMD.

The account was shifted without a pitch. MediaCom was earlier believed to have bagged the business but a spokesperson confirmed that Mindshare was the appointed agency instead.

Andreas Vogiatzakis, MD of OMD Malaysia, said, "The reasons for the shift are purely administrative and not at all strategic or related to the work that OMD has done for Courts, which to this day has been exceptional. OMD has been a long term partner of Courts, and wishes them all the very best in their journey ahead."

Courts is currently the largest consumer electronics and furniture retailer in Malaysia with a network of 49 stores nationwide.
