Corporates line up as US$170 mil Singapore Flyer opens for business

SINGAPORE The brand new US$170 million, 165-metre-high Singapore Flyer " currently the world's tallest observation wheel " began commercial operations on February 11.

For three consecutive evenings, guests from more than 30 companies experienced Singapore’s latest attraction.

Only corporate bookings were accepted last month in the lead up to the public launch on
March 1.

ABN Amro, Citibank and UOB booked Lunar New Year packages for their guests and staff
at US$6,260 per capsule.

On the first day of operation, 700 people rode in the wheel’s 28 air-conditioned capsules, each
of which can carry 28 people.

Credit Suisse head of private banking, Southeast Asia and Australasia, Dr Francois Monnet, said: “We believe that exclusive and tailor-made client events provide an excellent opportunity for fostering closer client relations. Our objective with all client lifestyle events is to create an experience that is memorable and unique.”

About 100 corporate events and functions were scheduled this month and last.
Hosts can choose either a ride or a package that includes access to other facilities, such
as the rooftop garden and function room.

Catering is provided by tenants in the three-storey Retail Terminal or by the Singapore Flyer’s
designated caterer. A ride on the Singapore Flyer lasts 30 minutes.
