By Mark Armsden JAKARTA The Third Convention-Exhibition Indonesia and Motivation Show (CONVEXINDO) is to go ahead this year despite the country's internal turmoil and falling international arrivals. Indonesia's only showcase for the meeting and incentive travel will be held on June 11-13 at the Balai Sidang Jakarta Convention Centre. Organisers said 150 buyers, mostly decision makers, are expected to attend the show in which 60 hosted buyers are invited from overseas, with 70% emphasis on regional and 30% from long-haul markets. The rest of the buyers will be trade visitors from national and multinational firms. Hosted buyers will be invited based on meeting specific criteria. "It is a showcase of Indonesia's products and services held annually in Jakarta to attract national, regional and international conference, exhibition and incentive buyers on the latest products and services available in the country," a CONVEXINDO spokesman said. "The activity also gives an opportunity for the Indonesian conference, exhibition and incentive industry to understand the overseas meeting markets more and be associated with the international circles as well." Exhibition space of 1305sqm to fit 70 booths will be available for hotels, event organisers, venues and international convention bureaux.
