CONNECTIONS: Portal expands travel sales to WAP, PDA users

BANGKOK: Sino.net has launched a new travel portal for i-mode, WAP and PDA users as part of its push to build up mobile commerce services in Asia.

The company also plans to open a Singapore office later this year.

The portal offers online hotel bookings via NTT DoCoMo's i-mode service.

The company, which is a subsidiary of e4asia, has also set up a Ho Chi Minh-based multilingual call centre with the capacity to serve callers in English, Japanese, German, French, Chinese and Korean.

According to the company, the travel portal can connect users to more than 2,500 partner hotels, and allows users to obtain information before making an online booking from the web, mobile phone or PDA.
