There's plenty to like about the website of Hong Kong's sauce and condiments company, Lee Kum Kee. For a brand that is an Asian company, the site boasts an unmistakeable Oriental flavour. The company's strong Chinese cultural identity is immediately evident to visitors.
Its grids are simple and clean and navigating the site is easy enough, being both clear and user-friendly.
The ease of navigation extends to the way the site is structured, boasting well-organised product categories. It is immediately apparent what Lee Kum Kee's main product lines are, which is a strong selling point of the site.
For brands like Lee Kum Kee, the ultimate test is the product's use in cooking. Here, site developers have included cooking recipes and culinary tips.
For me, this is a sign that Lee Kum Kee isn't simply product-oriented, but it's also customer-oriented. A very good way to market a brand.
But there's more than just products and cooking on this site. There's even food for the brain, with puzzles on the Kumunity page of the site.
In my book, that's a fresh idea.
An added service to site visitors is the e-card offering Chinese greetings, again another way to stamp Lee Kum Kee's Chinese roots.
My only complaint is the link to the brand's previous advertising campaigns.
Sadly, the resolution of the video clips isn't high enough to provide a strong video image.
