CONNECTIONS: NatGeo event to bring Egyptian culture to life

HONG KONG: National Geographic Channel Asia will launch an integrated event for the live global telecast of its HSBC-sponsored programme, Egypt: Secret Chambers Revealed.

The event will include on-ground exhibits, interactive and web activities, school outreach programmes and promotions, which will bring together National Geographic expeditions, channels, magazines, exhibits, websites and educational initiatives.

A spokesperson for HSBC said the the sponsorship was part of the bank's marketing activities to support its worldwide branding campaign, which was launched earlier this year.

Marketing communications firm Uniplan won a three-way pitch to organise and host the event.

Uniplan managing director, C. L. Wong, said the two-week event was scheduled to take place this month and would feature Egyptian culture, multimedia stations and interactive games in Hong Kong and Singapore.

"We will offer visitors a complete Egyptian experience through music and food, said Wong.

Christian Bruhe, president and chief executive of Uniplan, added that the local market was evolving away from its focus on exhibitions to more strategic and integrated consulting services.
