CONNECTIONS: Modem Media in tie-up to enter China market

HONG KONG: Modem Media has formed a partnership with PacificNet Solutions, a subsidiary of PacificNet, in a bid to enter the China market and tap the growth in digital and database marketing technologies.

The combined technology platform of the two companies will include content management toolset, customer relationship management, data mining and segmentation, and a multichannel marketing engine supporting email, SMS and other digital mediums.

Brett King, regional director of Modem Media's Asian operations, said: "What we used to see were clients focused on technology or marketing, because they believed traditionally that these two functions were separate.

"We are helping our clients deliver measurable, high-performance marketing campaigns at a fraction of their usual cost. Now we are seeing our clients shifting budgets from traditional media to the web, email and SMS."
