CONNECTIONS: Coke kicks off UBuzz to build brand contact

MUMBAI: Coca-Cola India has tied-up with the country's leading mobile service carrier, AirTel, in a bid to enhance interaction with consumers.

Targeting the youth, UBuzz will offer downloads of ring tones and logos, online contests based on cricket, games, jokes, opinion polls and SMS chat rooms.

AirTel will provide the technology and content, with Coca-Cola promoting the SMS lounge through its various marketing initiatives. It will also provide key offers and some exclusive properties to members of this lounge.

The soft-drink giant will also line up a range of activities based on popular films, sporting events, TV and radio shows and celebrities. The promotions will be visible at retail outlets including food chains, cinemas, bowling alleys, restaurants and other youth preferred venues.

Shripad Nadkarni, vice-president, marketing, Coca-Cola, said: "UBuzz is a platform that allows consumers to interact with our brand goal of providing innovative experiences to our consumers.

"The youth are all about 'here and now' and based on this insight, we will provide instant gratification using our network of key accounts.

We are partnering with AirTel for this venture and are confident and excited about the future of UBuzz."
